The DVD starts and I get the first screen that identifies the DVD as a Fedora18 installation. The disc then continues, but only gives me a dark screen the the Fedora "F" sign in the middle. Nothing in the logs so appears to be a real hard lock. Requires the power button to be held in.

Just wondered if anyone else is getting this?

As the title says, i am installation Fedora 18 over the network using PXE, kickstart and nfs.

I am using the Fedora 18 DVD as installation media.

Thou the problem is not with the kickstart server configuration, as a matter of fact it works just fine. The problem is the host machine on which i want to install Fedora 18, it preforms a netboot and is handed an ip address, the first menu appers where i choose the option to "Install Fedora". It's setting up the system for installation but it gets stuck on this:

"Starting Wait for Plymouth Boot Screen to Quit..."

Any clues what could be causing it?

Im don't know if kickstart is the problem but im attaching my ks.cfg file.

I'd really prefer to get this information from the command line. "yum check-update" will tell me what packages have updates available, but doesn't tell me what changed.

Today in F18 the only way I know how to do this is to start the "Software" app and select "Check for updates", which seems to just launch "gpk-update-viewer". This is clunky at best, and made unnecessarily painful by the fact that the "details" box in the update viewer is not resizable only shows a couple lines of text at a time.

An example of the information I'm looking for: For the recent kernel-3.9.3-201 update the "gpk-update-viewer" shows this information:

I am not sure if it's that though since it appears I have IPv4 ONLY, unless the website accepts IPv6! See below when I ran a test of it:

That's kind of annoying, as I have to decide to abort the second post or edit out the first post text that's included to the 2nd post and just have the 2nd post.

The problem is I can't reinstall libXvMC which the xorg intel driver needs.

this is the line I get when I try

YUM also can't find the libxvmc package now

No Match for argument: libXvMC-1.0.7-4.fc19.i686

I have reinstalled pkg-config but it doesn't help.

Does anyone have a suggestion(s) ??

Its not anaconda, but python-imgcreate.
This package comes from livecd-tools.

But I can offer an trick to install livecds or NightlyBuilds:

open a console and write
sudo passwd root

After given a rootpasswd yum can start
liveinst

So I could start my own livecd and NightlyBuild from 2013.05.24
