Re: Autoten to help install codecs, flash etc...

That makes some sense, each profile has a distinct "pluginreg.dat" file
and inside those files there will be an entry for the flash player that looks like this:

Re: Why is presto not used sometimes?

I'm pretty sure I've remembered some libreoffice update sets coming down to my system as drpms and other times it comes down as rpms. I'm thinking Dobbi has the right idea, there were drpms but for...

Re: YUM is super super slow

What I do is delete the timedhosts file, that forces yum to remeasure the servers:

I put the above alias "rmtimed" in my /root/.bashrc because it's kind of long and complex to type.
I have...

Why is presto not used sometimes?

I was in the local wireless cafe and wanted to update Libreoffice, yum update showed that would be about 97Meg. No worries, I figured that presto would use drpms and that would be reduced to...

Re: "Bad" /etc/fstab line crashes boot?

"defaults" is a macro that means: rw, suid, dev, exec, auto, nouser, and async

The important one is "auto", that means it tries to mount at boot up automatically. If you had the mount point set...

Re: Anyone else having problems with Libre Office today?

The current updates-testing libreoffice seems to have fixed the session manager hanging problem on KDE for me.

you can either wait for it to hit updates repository and update as normal or just do:...

Re: Disable /tmp cleaner

The systemd-tmpfiles-clean.service seems to default to being set by:

/usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/tmp.conf

/etc/tmpfiles.d/tmp.conf (this one overrides the settings in /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/tmp.conf )...

Re: Google Drive client for Linux

I'm not trying to tell people what to do as far some person in particular (I've never heard of this Christiaan person ). I guess John indirectly referred to him as the code being a "newer build from...

Re: Google Drive client for Linux

I don't think you understand my point, I'm not saying what stops the destination server from forking the files off to somewhere else. I mean they're installing an executable from some website...

Re: Google Drive client for Linux

Don't you realize you're installing an application from a total stranger that's backing up your files? That seems kind of risky. What's to stop it from splitting files to a second location.

Can KVM create the guests OS out of the host?

Every time I've experimented with virtual machines, I've usually had to install the OS from a ISO disk or iso file just like I'd install the OS to a real machine.

It occurred to me that if I want...

Note, you can't run 'lastb' as a normal user, you'll only get this failure:

Re: Icedtea can't find java executable in Fedora 20

Re: Anyone else having problems with Libre Office today?

There's a bunch of libreoffice files in updates-testing today too, I'm going to try updating to those.

EDIT - nope, the currrent (4/9) updates-testing (on KDE) are broken too, I've gone to using...
