I have been trying out the latest kde4 from ubuntu's latest offering. It is running like alpha code. It is incomplete in functionality and I am running into a lot of general usability issues.

Dr. The environment variable solution worked for us w/ IDL rendering problems.
I will keep an eye out for the updated Mesa.

Well.. It appears that '-p <portnum>' doesn't work (anymore?) on Fedora Core 2 (x86_64).. But I was able to use the equiv '--port <portnum>'.. This seems to work. rpcinfo -p localhost confirms that...
