Hi I'm a newby.
I have a freeview TV card and want to know what is the best application for watching TV on my Fedora 5 installation?
Is there one built into Fedora for example?
Or will I have to download one and "try" to install it?

FFTV sounds like what you may be looking for.

1 F?? workstation, 1 XBMC PVR and two Win7 workstations.
Too many other pc's - some that are even still running.
tvtime and xdtv for simple viewing. These are available from some repo which I cannot remember at this time.
mythtv and freevo if you wanna setup a HTPC.
I prefer mythtv myself.
EDIT: Meant to add this - do a google search for the bold part and fedora.
I wasn't going to recommend mythtv quite yet - didn't want to scare them away. You're right though, it's the best one out there. I just finished building my third mythtv box and it's finally working just the way I want it to. I knew there was another app I'd used, just couldn't remember the name. Thanks. bg

tvtime is available from the core repository, as root:
# yum install tvtime

xdtv will require that you do the following instructions as root.
My only change would be to change enable=1 to enable=0.
That would mean that for the yum command you would need to add the following option --enablerepo=xdtv
------------------------------------------------------------
For freevo and mythtv, you will have to hit the net and do a lot of reading up. However Jarod Wilson's MythTV HOWTO is very good.
