cannot get internet through wired connection

I just installed Fedora 10 for the first time on my HP Pavillion desktop.
Everything worked fine and I installed the first set of updates.

Then I wanted to install KDE so I did that. Then it told me there were more recommended updates. After installing KDE, I started to install the updates and when I came back today the wired connection wasn't working

Can anyone help me get my wired connection working again?

    Try at your terminal
    Code:
    system-config-network
Activate your ethernet card, and select File, then Save. You may have to press Apply as well.

    Can you provide:
    Code:
    su -
    chkconfig --list | grep [Nn]etwork
