How can I import pidgin accounts/data into Empathy?

I've installed Fedora 13 and would like to find a way to import my pidgin accounts, data, and logs into empathy. The Empathy FAQ doesn't mention this, there's nothing in the Empathy help about it, and I've gone through every menu looking for anything like an "import" option and come up empty. I tried asking on irc.gimp.org#empathy but got no response there. I'm guessing that means there's no built-in upgrade path. But maybe somebody has a script that will do it? Or worst case, maybe someone could point me to instructions on how to manually convert the data? Any help appreciated!

I don't use Empathy, but the first thing it asked when I started it up was if I wanted it to import account details from pidgin:

Re: How can I import pidgin accounts/data into Empathy?

Weird, mine doesn't offer that option. Does it only give you the chance to do it the first time you start it? Maybe I need to uninstall and re-install empathy? I'm pretty sure it didn't show that option even on the first time I started it though. Seems like if it can import the data, there should be a way to trigger the import from a menu option somewhere though. Frustrating...

The option to import stuff from Pidgin should automatically appear if you have a ".purple" directory in your home directory.

So copy the .purple directory into your current home from a backup (if you have it) or from your previous home (if you renamed/changed it).
