Empathy with an msn account will not connect. It is not giving an error, its just not connecting. I have made sure all packages are upto date. I also tried Pidgin, it also will not connect. I suspect its a fault of MS but in windows my client connects.
Has anyone heard anything on this? or know what the problem might be?

Scrap that.
I removed/disabled an account called people nearby and it is all working now.
