Quick: Change shortcut to swap desktops

i want to set the shortcut so that alt+1,2,3or4 will swap between the desktops,

how do i do this i cant seem to find it under system->preferences

also how do i make it so when i scroll the middle mouse buttom on a windows title it goes to shade?

Have package gconf-editor installed (it's probably not by default).

applications > system tools > configuration editor

apps > metacity > global_keybindings

i edit the bindings and no change occurs

it appears it did not like compiz, so i turned that off

can switch desktops now, nice!

how do i input middle mouse scroll for the toggle_shaded under window_keybindings?

The settings are for Metacity, not Compiz. I tried and failed to find the equivalent Compiz ones in apps > compiz. I use both myself, but I only customized keybindings for gnome-terminal and use the defaults for the window manager.

No idea on how to get mouse events into keybindings, sorry.

annoyingly, i have now got it to toggle shade with the mouse wheel in compiz, but can only get the Alt+1/2/3/4 to swap desktops on metacity
