[SOLVED] ip6tables: Applying firewall rules: modprobe: FATAL: with 2.6.34.7-56.fc13.i686

Since the update from kernel 2.6.34.6-54.fc13.i686 to 2.6.34.7-56.fc13.i686 I have been getting these boot messages and haven't been able to get network access:

ip6tables: Applying firewall rules: modprobe: FATAL: Module index: unexpected error: EOF
Try re-running depmod

Try re-running depmod
modprobe: FATAL: Module index: unexpected error: EOF
Try re-running depmod

ip6tables-restore v1.4.7: ip6tables-restore: unable to initialize table 'filter'

Try `ip6tables-restore -h' or 'ip6tables-restore --help' for more information.
	[FAILED]

Also, maybe a different update that occured at the same time, firefox won't start with any kernel, it puts up a message: Input/Output Error

I did

sudo depmod

to fix this, but why do I have to do this?

firefox still doesn't work, I'll try a reinstall.
