If you click on the .pdf file it should bring up a menu including the option ' open with Document Viewer '. As far as I know Document Viewer is part of the default Fedora install.

It is, and it does. It doesn't do much other than view, but it views a good number of various file formats, and is installed by defualt in Fedora.

I've gone to the "Add or Remove Software" and download the Adobe Reader RPM Package. Works great too. Give that a try.

Adobe Reader is slow and buggy. If there's no need in some special feature available only in Adobe Reader any other .pdf viewer in Linux would be preferable.

I'll second that, we use adobe reader at work and boy is it painfully slow to open pdfs and scrolling is a total nightmare, evince is almost instant and smooth scrolling and a fraction of the size

If you want something really light, you can use xpdf. I personally use evince/okular (like others who have said so)

I'd rather not use closed-source programs like Acrobat Reader, but unfortunately it's still the best PDF viewer in terms of being able to open and properly display all kinds of PDFs. I've had problems opening certain files with the alternatives.

Me too. So I use adobe. Seems to run fine on my machine. Doesn't seem 'slow' and haven't noticed any 'bugs' either.

Years of using Adobe Reader in Windows have given me a familiarity with it that I feel comfortable with. I haven't found any slowness or problems using it with Fedora 16. I did try the embedded document viewer and it works fine too. I guess it's just what your comfortable with. Thanks for the suggestions.

LibreOffice Draw will also handle it easily.

Re: Is there any embedded software in Fedora16 to read .pdf file?
Acrobat Reader 9.4.6-1 for F16 seems pretty fast and stable. One thing you can do to speed things up is to remove any unneeded plugins in the /opt/Adobe/Reader9/Reader/intellinux/plug_ins directory, especially the Accessibility.api file.
I'd rather not use closed-source programs like Acrobat Reader, but unfortunately it's still the best PDF viewer in terms of being able to open and properly display all kinds of PDFs. I've had problems opening certain files with the alternatives.

"Document Viewer" aka 'evince' seems to work very well in recent releases.

I don't disbelieve you - it certainly used to be the case, but have you tried w/ evince 3.2 ?

In my case Adobe product is too slow to list long documents. Sometimes it slows down the whole system and freezes.
