"/etc/hotplug" is missing in Fedora 9?

Hi, Greetings,

I just installed Fedora 9 in vmware. But after I login, I can't find "/etc/hotplug" folder and "/sbin/hotplug" script. I used to use Fedora Core 4, and those hotplug stuff exist.

Can somebody help me? I need it for I am doing a little programming.

Best regards,
Fred

There have been lots of changes since FC4 and you've found one of them... This is now handled by udev.

Thanks, Wayne.

As I understand in FC4, hotplug will call "/sbin/hotplug", which in turn invokes "/etc/hotplug/*.agent".
With Fedora 9, where should I put my "*.agent" script? I need use my script to do something.

Best regards,
Fred

Udev uses "rules"

http://reactivated.net/writing_udev_rules.html

Edit: Do a search for "udev rules" and "udev hotplug" for more info.
