I've got a weird problem that I've had for a while now, and I haven't the foggiest idea how to fix it. I'm currently running Fedora 9 x86_64. I am running the Gnome Desktop Environment, and I have two displays. XScreen0 is my laptop's 1920x1200 display, and XScreen1 is my external 1280x1024 display.
When I start up, Network Manager, Power Manager, and PackageKit Update all come up in tiny little desktop windows. These windows are just large enough to show the applet icon, but they are on the DESKTOP, not in the Panel. I can right-click on the panel, select 'Add To Panel' and add them to the Panel, and they will show up as normal there, but they are still also showing as Desktop windows. I can close the Desktop windows, but no matter what I do the Desktop windows will immediately reopen in the upper left-hand corner of the Desktop.
Any thoughts on how to get these guys to go back into the top Panel like they are supposed to be, and STAY there?
