fsck issue for some users

I note that F10, when it is "time" for an e2fsck, is silent about the delay. Most of our customers will assume that the system is broken and will never know to press Esc to see what's happening. When a filecheck is taking place according to tune2fs, there really needs to be some indication for what the long delay is about. Anybody got an answer?
