Depends on how you use it and take care of it I guess. I still like how thin the phone is and the keypad is outstanding.
Interesting, I'll keep that in mind. One can not miss how stylish & elegant the phone is.

Thanks,
Joe.

They might, or they can break for "no" reason. On hindsight I am surprised how well my Nokia 6255 managed to survive the hits it took recently when it went loose from my belt, it took many hits and just now the hinge broke.

On the other hand it went mute for no reason (forcing me to use handset), and apparently that last thing was beyond repair.

Thanks,
Joe.

I watched a video a while back about Nokia's stress testing and I honestly think they are probably the most sturdy phones around. I have a HTC Magic (Google Android phone), my friend has the same one. He dropped it once and now it can no longer read the SD card.

I can't find the video on youtube, but it basically consisted of phones being slammed onto concrete blocks, put through washing machines, spun in a bag for hours on end etc. but if their phone couldn't take it, it didn't make it to market.

Edit: Nokia Test Center Preview

I hate cell phones. I hate landline phones too, but I am unfortunately tied to a cell phone and I hate phones. I had a cheap nokia that lasted for years and took so many hits and drops I cant begin to even describe. I was still working in the field a lot at that time and I abused that phone. I would just toss it around. It was just a phone, no gadgets, I just used it to talk and voice messages.

My wife needed a phone with internet access and such so we got a good deal on a couple BlackBerry curve 8900s. I was reluctant, I hate phones and I did not want or need all that stuff. A phone was made to talk on, that's it. But I retired my trusty Nokia and gave the BB a chance. Man, I love it! I use that sucker for everything! E-mail notification, shopping lists, internet access while on the road, GPS, you can even use the camera flash as a flashlight! I have used the camera and video so muc it isnt funny, it seems I always want to take a pic or video of something when I dont have the camera. I do not text and I try to stay off the phone as much as possible, but I use many other functions so often I cannot imagine doing without anymore.

I understand your feelings about. I appreciate their ability to remind me stuff (and store information), and only hate them when it's time for a change (migrate info), but could certainly live without one.

On the other hand my dad hates them because he says they harm his privacy allowing people to call him even in the toilet. He is forced to use one though...

Thanks,
Joe.
