How long should a disk-utility extended check take?

I'm currently running a full hard disk check with Palimpsest Disk Utility. How long should I expect this to take running off the Fedora 12 Live disk on a 2GHz 2Gig Ram laptop with a 160gb HDD?

The progress bar seems to have completed a number of times although the status at the top underneath the disk name still states 'Health status is unknown'.

Thanks.
