Network Manager Acitivate/Deactivate Buttons getting disabled

Hi,

I had installed Fedora 12. I am using 4 LAN Cards. All these cards were configured using network manager, but i am not able to acivate /deactivate these cards using acivate /deactivate buttons since they got disabled. I could activate the cards by running /etc/init.d/restart network. Anyone knows why the acivate /deactivate buttons in network manager are disabled .

regards
Supreed

They are deactivated b/c you configure them to use NetworkManager(NM). It's not obvious but either NM or 'network' service has control of each interface - not both. These tools try weakly to not interfere w/ each other.

They have merged some of the config info but it's kind of a hack IMO. Work in progress.

Altho' there is work underway to improve NM, IMO you should still use 'netwprk' to configure most wired interfaces. It's definitely a joy to use for wireless.
