Can any one help me on installing Bigpond Wireless Broardband? I have just installed Fedora 11 on a portable SCSI hard drive, fedora appears to work but i want to use the internet. The Bigpong unit is a USB drive withe exe. installer.

Hi Dan,

I'm in NZ so we don't have Bigpond, but I have a couple of questions anyway.

Do you mean the USB unit is a 3G MOBILE wireless device?
Who manufactured the device?

I've successfully used the Huawei USB devices from Vodafone and NZ Telecom to get 3G mobile wireless access with very little effort. The trick for me was to stop thinking things happen the same way as in Windows (which I fix EVERY day).

I'll be able to help you more once I have your reply to my questions.

Welcome to the forum. I haven't used the Bigpond one but Optus does work.

The first thing to do is plug it in and see if Network Manager recognises it. If so you can select Bigpond from the list and it should work.

If not then type lsusb and see if it is detected.
