Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml)

Hi

I just installed Fedora 12.

I am getting following error if I try to give the command yum update

http://download.fedoraproject.org/pu...ta/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 5 - ""
Trying other mirror.
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. Please verify its path and try again

I tried all the steps in the post http://rishabhsays.wordpress.com/201...sitory-fedora/ and no success. I am behind a proxy server and got proxy related info in yum.conf file but still facing the same problem.

I even tried following commands with no success

yum clean all
rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db*
rpm –rebuilddb

I can connect to internet but cannot update using yum

There seems to be a bug reported on the same issue in FEDORA13 - https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=564509

Any body got a WORK THROUGH ??
