    Short Filename case error on FAT/FAT32

    Hi

    I have some files and directories (some mixed case, and some all uppercase) that I have copied on a FAT32 USB stick, and when I load this on FC11 all the files and directories that have/are less then 8 characters (ie that fit into the 8.3 format) all go to lowercase.

    Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Regards
    Taniel

    Hello:

    yum install gconf-editor

    then from a terminal as a normal user, type and enter

    gconf-editor

    then,

    /apps
    /system
    /storage
    /default_options

    select vfat
    and in the right hand screen, select, right click and select Edit Key and change
    shortname=lower
    to
    shortname=mixed

    exit and reboot
