My computer is burning when goes to sleep :(

hi
I'M using F14 x86_64 and my problem is suspending. When I closed my laptop lid its going black screen and my hdd led is lighting I think my hdd is working hard and I think my cpu is working hard too so fan is working fast and my notebok is going hot.Any key is working on black screen. I must shut down hard . My computer has i5 and ati 5650. WHen I was using Mint 10, it has going sleep well.How can I fix ?

I've seen similar behavior (Lenovo T510, i5 ,using IGP graphics) when going to hibernate (not suspend). Suspend puts CPU & peripherals to sleep but memory is active/refresh. Hibernate writes the system state to disk(swap) and shuts down.

Please use the pull-down menu System=>Shutdown= select "Suspend" vs "Hibernate" and see which one is the problem.

If the problem w/ continuing disk activity is "Hibernate", then I've found that switching to a 2.3.37 kernel fixed the problem.

Perhaps selecting a 2.6.36 koji kernel would too. It'sa easy to try.

Hi alycann, try going to system --> preferences --> power management and check that the setting for :

"When laptop lid is closed"

It should be suspend by default, but yours maybe put on blank screen.

If it is then you need to change it to suspend or hibernate and see if that fixes your problem.

hello I'm using 2.6.35 how can I update ?
already when laptop lid is closed : suspend.
what can I do another ?

I tried to update fedora from testin repository.after I boot , my fedora has locked.after boot there is coming a blak screen and it's locking every key. I bored from fedora quickly
