display: Low refresh rate (problems with radeon driver?)

[google translate - reverso.net]
Hi, I can not change the refresh rate (I use Fedora 11)

Graphics card: ATI x800xl
Driver: radeon
Display: ADI Microscan E75

I can only select 60Hz or 75Hz but not 85Hz. The problem is the radeon driver?
I have tried the following command:

Code:
xrandr --rate 85
but it doesn't work.
How can I resolve this problem?

Please post results of commands:
xrandr -q
grep 85 /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Well, you're using the highest available resolution and refresh rate. It appears that the 85 Hz refresh rate is (theoretically) possible for some resolutions, but is being disallowed, but we missed those lines. If you want to find out more about why, then review the entire log file, or attach it to a post here (don't POST the log file, just ATTACH it to a new post) so we can all review it.

The problem could be due to the new kernel modesetting radeon driver. A quick thing to try is to add the keyword "nomodeset" to the kernel command line in /boot/grub/grub.conf and see if the higher refresh rates become usable.

The display works with the resolution of 1024x 768 85Hz. I am sure.
Indeed, on windows I can choose the resolution of 1024x768 85Hz.

NOTE 1: Fedora had not recognized my display. I have used system-confing-display to select the correct monitor. But the problem is not resolved.

NOTE 2: The maximum resolution of my monitor is not 1024x768 ...

Thanks for your help

nomodeset belongs at the end of the line that starts with "kernel" not the line that starts with initrd.

Well! Now I can select 1024x768 85Hz.

If there are other solutions, rest in listening.
I thank you for your help.

I did the same, added nomodeset to the end of the kernel line and restarted. It didnt boot at all!.

I removed that nomodeset and managed to get it boot into fedora.
