Yafaray for blender on FC14

Hi folks.

i have installed blender, yafaray and yafaray-blender with yum.
I think there might be a conflict with the python version, as yafaray is crashing blender.

How can I determine with which python version yafaray and blender was compiled with?
How to install the proper python version? I think I need python 2.6. (At least on windows, it crashed the same way with 2.7 and worked with 2.6)

So basically ...
Any ideas how to get a proper installation under FC14?

Addendum:
I installed python 2.6.6 after compiling from source.
Still crashing, so probably still the 2.7 lib is used....
