I would like to put together some way to have gnome open a command prompt at the current location I have open in the gnome file editor. Any suggestions or ideas?

Thank you!

Re: command prompt here.

Do you mean open a Terminal in Nautilus?

yum install nautilus-open-terminal

Perhaps not but I was unable to find any good websites that cover it so I made one! To me it was not common knowledge at all.

There is hardly anything to "cover": a simple instruction, install nautilus-open-terminal, is all that one needs to do, and this information is easily found by simplest internet search.

Re: "Command Prompt Here" or "Open Terminal Here"

I have a faint recollection of this having been the default behavior for nautilus until some point when the gnome-devs decided to begin the stupification of gnome. At that point, it became necessary to install the nautilus-open-terminal package in order to re-obtain that function. From the perspective of someone who went through the transition, the solution is obvious, but thinking from the perspective of a relative noob, the existence of that package isn't the most obvious thing in the universe. Is there a "tips and tweaks" thread anywhere that this could be appended to?
