[FC2] Machine freezes after KDE log-out

Hello all,

my office machine (a DELL GX240) completely freezes when I log out of KDE (or GNOME).
Only a hard reboot brings the machine back. What can that be? Please help!

It's a 82845 845 (Brookdale) Chipset and the graphics according to lspci is:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage 128 Pro Ultra TF

Last message in /var/log/messages before reboot is:
May 25 10:30:12 pc50511 gdm(pam_unix)[2084]: session closed for user pigpen
After reboot:
May 25 10:31:59 pc50511 syslogd 1.4.1: restart.

When I changed the resolution to 1400x1050 it suddenly worked! Strange, but at least no more freezes

i did face the same problem. now, it's never exist. it's just a problem in ATI card. i wrote the following 2 commands after that. you will not see the problem again.

If you use GDM, which is the default Login Manager on Fedora 14

1- sudo gedit /etc/gdm/gdm.conf
2- write that " AlwaysRestartServer=true " then click save
3- reboot.
