flash plugin 11.1.102.55 for 64bit, still making popping noises

A while back we needed to put in a hack in the memcpy library so that the flash plugin in would not make popping noise.
The bugzilla listing:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=638477

I think my fix was lost in time either due to moving to Fedora 15 or changing configurations. But I expected using the current flash plugin 11.1.102.55 would have fixed that.

But it doesn't. Today I found this:

http://kir.sacred.ru/flash-fix/

But I'm not wanting to install code from some mystery guy in russia. What's the safe, official way to get flash plugin 11.1.102.55 to quit popping under Fedora 15 64bit (it's kind of a machine gun noise)?

The code came from Linus Torvalds.

Ok, at the time of the post I thought he just had a binary rpm, looking around his URL I found the source tarball which shows it to be super simple (the original Linus source).

It's too bad this is still going on, I suspect neither the GNU or adobe coders will fix this. I was thinking the new flash would fix this.
So is this hack still needed even in Fedora 16?
