FC15 x86_64 boinc won't connect to localhost

I have just used yum to install boinc.

I run 'boinc' in one terminal, then run 'boincmgr' in another terminal. boincmgr shows 'Disconnected' in the status bar.

If I click on 'Tools/Attach to project or account manager', the status changes to 'Connecting to localhost', thinks for a few seconds, then goes back to 'Disconnected'

This happens whether I have the firewall enabled or disabled.

Any ideas, folks?
