Jack Driver is not running (long)

Hi,

I have a problem getting sound out of Rosegarden on Fedora 15. I searched this forum and googled and found many similar problems, the most similar on Ubuntu and unanswered. I have tried solutions to other similar error messages without success.

Starting jackd from command line, I have also tried hw:0 instead of hw:SB: (3 last lines appears first after starting Rosegarden)

Starting with qjackctl gives first the following messages:

Then after clicking start in the controls:

My cards: (the last one seems not to be connected to something, maybe it is on the graphic card?)

I don't know if this will help or not, but you could try adding user jd to the audio, pulse and pulse-access groups.

I tried that but it didn't work. I added groups to my user (jd), restarted the computer and tried again. No success.

I've come one step closer I think. I had failed to understand how to turn of pulse-audio respawning.

Now I have edited the file /etc/pulse/client.conf to include the line
> autospawn = no

and turned off pulseaudio
> pulseaudio -k

Now jackd doe's not give any error message i can see, but I still get no sound out of Rosegarden.

What setting should I try in rosegarden. Should I try to install some simple midi-synth to redirect the midi to from rosegarden, or use synth plugin?

I played around a little but couldn't get a single sound out of it. I've used one of the example projects distributed with rosegarden.
