Pidgin extension is broken

With today's updates on Fedora 16 64-bit (testing repos) pidgin extension doesn't work as intended. Once pidgin goes to tray you can't bring it back, only close it. Now that kind of sucks because empathy doesn't work well at all (some messeges are not even delivered to me or from me) and Pidgin was the only solution. Any ideas?
Pidgin extension had some other problems already like:
1.) not showing that you are connected on the upper right
2.) bubble doesn't autoscroll to the latest messege

but this new bug makes it impossible to work with
Please someone help offering a solution or an alternative to pidgin

(EDIT) Actually this must be a tray problem not a pidgin extension problem cause when VLC goes to tray the same thing happens (the icon dissapears and can't bring VLC window back - only close it)
