hi. i've build a new server using a motherboard which i thought had onboard hardware raid. turns out it is Intel Rapid Storage Technology (which i'd not come across before). i've build a raid 5 array within the bios using 4 disks and then installed f16 on another system disk. the os sees the raid array and everything appears to be working ok. having read up about this technology i'm now wondering if it's something i want to use or should i stick with software raid.
having done all the usual searches but can't find an answer so thought i'd ask if anyone has any pro/cons for Intel Rapid Storage Technology vs software raid, that will help me decide which solution to go with. cheers.
