All,
Just finished installing F15 x64, and originally I was able to browse network shares,
After doing a yum update, and installing a few additional apps, none of which have any dealing with networking, I can't browse the network
In the popular file managers, I can see the machines, but can't see anything beyond that point.
I can't even open the local machine's shares.
when I do I see a unable to mount location , failed to retrieve share list from server
Both the FIREWALL and SELINUX are disabled, SMB/NMB are running, I can ping the machines and I can connect to the internet.
smb workgroup is set, security is set to user, smb has my user name/password added via the desktop app and I have a public share created /mnt/share with 777 permissions.
I've tried both fixed ip addresses and automatic.
I'm using the generic smb.conf file other that changing workgroup, netbios name and share
additionally, I can't mount a nfs share either,
mount 192.168.1.10:/areca3 /mnt/areca3 -t nfs
mount.nfs: access denied by server while mounting 192.168.1.10:/areca3
other machines can mount this share so it mujst be central to the new install
There must be one crucial step I've missed, but what is it?
thanks
