I just upgraded to Fedora 17, maintaining my home directory and all its . files.
Evolution is now responding differently. I also have evolution running under Fedora 15 on another machine. I checked all the settings, and they are the same.
First, and most disturbing, is that when I click on Send/Receive mail, the window that comes up about updating my mail takes a long time to load the new mail whereas previously it was just a few seconds.
Secondly, various of my local folders have disappeared, being replaced by the same name followed by _sbd.
The .sdb directories are empty.
How do I get access to the existing folders?
Can anyone refer me to a reference page explaining what is new?

I got some help from the evolution mailing list, but it didn't solve my probllems.
These are
1. Local folders got lost althrough they are still in .local/share/evolution/mail/local
2. I keep getting an error message when i send a message telling me there is something wrong but it places the sent message in my local Sent folder. I was told to fix this by editing my preferences and under defaults setting the default Sent folder to what i want. When I do this Apply remains grayed out so the change doesn't get saved.
3. When I click on Send/Receive, it takes a long time to get the messages from my mail server. Previously this took a few seconds.
Something probably went wrong in migration to the new evolution.
Can I fix this by starting from scratch? After doing so, do I have to reset the mail servers. Can I find my old local folders and see their contents afterwards?
Any other hints?
Added later:
I finally mv'd .local/share/evolution/mail/local to another name. I got a fresh mail interface, and i was able to import the old local folders.
