I just installed Fedora 17/i386 from the DVD image (everything available) and ran the updates. The pure installation of the packages itself lasted for more than two-and-a-half hours, from 07:00 am to 09:45 am, and since 09:45 am (now it is 14:47 here) the updater is updating the system. In addition, the package manager is a ridiculous and heavily buggy toy that is almost unusable when one wants to install a huge batch of packages at once. All of this is unbearable. Whoever wrote this f***ing slow b*****it belongs fired at once. Compared to a debian system I have spent the time for installing ten machines in a row on a f***ing SINGLE machine!
I will never use a Fedora system again.
Thank you.
