[SOLVED] Yum upgrade FC16 -> FC17

After I follow the instruction:

You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest
Your transaction was saved, rerun it with:
yum load-transaction /tmp/yum_save_tx.2012-07-04.07-05.QEmVSK.yumtx

I have try this on all servers. Same result everywhere.
Any idea?

Are you sure you have done this:

# rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__*
# rpm --rebuilddb
# yum --releasever=17 update rpm
# rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__*
# rpm --rebuilddb
# yum --releasever=17 --disableplugin=presto distro-sync
# fixfiles onboot

What does this say:

Okay that's good.
Then my next guess would be that the file system hasn't been prepared/converted, which the internet seems to agree on.

Have you followed the "dracut" steps prior to the ones I posted?
If so you might need to check the result of the conversion.
Easiest way I can think of is by:

You should see multiple symlinks to /usr.

Solved!

The problem was that kernel parameters was missing. after reboot in /etc/grub.conf
I add this:
- remove “ro” (read only)
- append “rw” (read write) to let dracut mount your root filesystem writeable
- remove “rhgb” (Red Hat graphical boot) to disable the graphical bootsplash
- append “rd.info” to get a more verbose output from dracut
- append “rd.convertfs” to enable the /usr-move conversion script in dracut
- append “enforcing=0” to disable SELinux enforcement

and reboot, after this all upgrade process finish successfully.
