Lost partition after power fail

Help,

We had a power fail both line and ups and the server came crashing down hard and fast.

After the dust settled and ac was restored a 6 tb user partition came up uninitialized, meaning fdisk -l shows the device but no partitions assigned.

The filesystem type is er, rather was JFS., is there any way to restore the partition or do I need to restore from backup?

I tried fsck.jfs /dev/sdc1 but with out a partition, nothing was accomplished.

any things I can try?

Try testdisk.

Best to run it from the GParted LiveCD.
