Cairo-dock on Fedora 16: missing application menu

Now, here's a screenshot of Fedora 16 (running on my computer; I just upgraded). Please notice that cairo-dock no longer offers the "application menu" applet.



(it's the same version of cairo-dock: 2.3.0.)

For the love of God, what happened to the application menu in cairo-dock on Fedora 16? It's missing.

second that, people want it back. Without the menu, the GNOME 3 interface is intolerable.

how r u showing the desktop in f16 ?

By installing and using gnome-tweak-tool and telling it to have the file manager control the desktop, and have the icons visible.

AFAICT, it sets nautilus to start automatically when GNOME starts, and sets several dconf keys to true. You could use gnome-sessions-properties and dconf-editor to do the same thing, but gnome-tweak-tool is a lot easier.

Was there ever an answer to this issue?

The same thing is true under F17 using the KDE desktop. After a fair amount of both Googling and experimenting have not been able to add an application menu to Cairo-Dock under F17. While tolerable, the configuration of Cairo-Dock with the application menu under F15 was MUCH more convenient and usable
