Any know how to get vsftpd to leave the dates alone?

I have searched around before and even sent the author email, but I still have not discovered how to leave the file timestamps alone, which makes it a major pain in the butt to use a file server to rescue files from peoples dead winxp machines and be able to recover recent changes.
