BOINC fails as non-root...

I've been running SETI@Home for years, and just added BOINC for Linux a month or so back. Whenever I start it as a non-root user, I get a connection failure and the whole thing becomes useless. I don't exactly feel great about that. :/ I tried a chmod -R 775 /usr/local/BOINC to no avail.

Thanks.
