Slow application launch if NOT connected to internet

Hi all,
I just installed Fedora 6 and upgraded the kernel. I am facing a strange problem: If I am NOT connected to the internet, any application launch is very slow, including booting. If I connected to the internet, everything works fine. For example, if I launch gnome-terminal without internet connection, it takes about 40 seconds to show up. If connected, then, it is almost instantaneous.

I am not sure whether this has something to do with the services running. I have enabled/disabled some services. I have already referred http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-services-fc6.html.

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated, as I use Fedora without internet, most of the time.

Thanks in advance,

Jayanth
