UPS battery back ups

Hi all.

I am needing a UPS battery back up.. I went to local puter store, and found a nice Belkin,, and a APC.. how ever none of them give support for linux..

Am I missing something? Is there some written documentation some where about preference and how to set one up on a linux computer some where?

Thanks

Mo

APC is always supported. I'm using one.

su i
yum install apcupsd
chkconfig apcupsd on
vi /etc/apcupsd/apcupsd.conf <- make changes to match the connections to the battery backup.

[root@kiriyamablevins ~]# rpm -qa | grep apc
apcupsd-cgi-3.12.4-5.fc6
apcupsd-3.12.4-5.fc6
[root@kiriyamablevins ~]#

Belkin UPS, then you will be using NUT, not apcupsd.
