vsftpd DNS lookups

Can DNS lookups be turned off in vsftpd? I checked the vsftpd.conf man page and find no mention of DNS lookups. I did a lot of searching and found no answer.

The reason I'm asking is yesterday I tried to log onto my ftp server at work and got timeouts after entering the password. I tracked the problem down to failed reverse lookups because my home ISPs DNS servers were not resolving reverse lookups.

The server is running FC5 with the latest version of vsftp available through yum updates.

Thanks in advance!
