Trouble getting webcam to work
Okay.. here's a little... difficult one....
I have a Micro (tm) basic webcam, USB, and I'm trying to get it working w/ kopete IM. I had it working before, but I swapped drives to a bigger drive, now I can't really recall how I did it.
Here's the current state of things... I'll just copy/paste from my yum log..

Aug 14 14:42:36 Installed: SDL_image.i386 1.2.5-4.fc7
Aug 14 14:42:37 Installed: spcagui.i386 20060127-4.fc7
Aug 14 14:42:37 Installed: spcaview.i386 20061208-3.fc7
v4l and kernel module are installed, as is the spca kernel module (generic webcam drivers). The problem is anytime I try to "access" the camera, either w/ the spcaview, spcagui or just starting kopete while the camera is plugged in, the system hangs.. freezes.. and the Caps Lock and Scroll Lock lights on the keyboard begin flashing on and off. No errors.. just hangs.
Has anybody else experienced this, and if so, any idea where I went awry?
