Hello,
I've just switched (back) from Ubuntu to Fedora 8 and am having a bit of a problem here..
I've set up some partitions on a drive much later after Fedora was installed. For example, I've created a 18GB partition on /dev/sdb12 with a reiserfs filesystem, and I mount it on /tools; I have other partitions like that.
Now here's the problem : those partitions appear on my desktop with a disk icon "18.1GB volume", "120GB volume" and so on. The only way to make them disappear off the desktop is to umount the partitions. Not really practical, is it ?
As a "side-problem", other partitions appear, the FAT32/NTFS/UFS ones from the Windows and Solaris systems coexisting on this PC. Those devices appear to be mounted in /media and also show up on the desktop. I'd like those to disappear as well, and actually not to be mounted at all. How can I make that ?
Thanks,
Jeff
