the first step of installing fedora14

hi
I have a problem.
I wanna install linux fedora 14 on vmware in my lap top. to do this, first of all I should boot DVD. but when I turn on windows xp on vmware, one page comes that" press f2 to enter setup, f12 for network boot, esc for boot menu"
I tried to press f2 or esc, but in both situations one page comes which says
"please select the operating system to start:
microsoft xp professional
start grub
for troubleshooting and advanced startup options for windows, press f8"

(about start grub option I should say that first I started to install fedora 14 by the method mentioned in the link below, but when I wanted to do step 7, I couldn't determine the partition. some one told me that this link is not appropriate for you

Start Windows like you normally do, after you are log in, insert your F14 dvd. Start vmware program and install (into vmware) F14

With Virtual Machines - usually they use a little less than half of your available RAM. This may not be enough RAM to install F14. Or if you have allocated more than half of your RAM (to VMware), it may be causing problems with your original OS and VMware.

Depending on the specs of your hardware, Virtual Machines can be limited in performance. In general, 4 gigs of RAM would be good - but you could probably use 2 gigs of RAM, and still have a functioning Virtual Machine (for running another OS).
