[SOLVED] persistent overlay not working

Hello,

I am trying to put a F17 Live system on a usb stick.

Everything works except the persistent overlay. (Note: I am using an ext3 on the USB stick because I want a big home.img)

Dracut gives me an error along the lines "not able to mount persistent overlay, using temporary"

I saw some bugs related to dracut in F15 but I am now on F16 (that particular "fix" didn't work anyway). Otherwise I saw just questions but no solutions (or just very old stuff)

Using latest F16 distro + patches.

You could try to set the persistent home directory or partition by adding something like the following to the kernel line in grub:

home=/dev/sda2

or for a folder

home=/dev/hda2:/folder

The same can be done for all changes with something like:

changes=/dev/sda2

OOPS ... I forgot to close this one.

I discovered the problem:

I was relabeling the filesystem on the USB stick rom 'LIVE' to something else to be able to identify it.

Relabeling worked with F13 but doesn't with F17, migh be hard wired somewhere.
