Belkin USB Wireless G Network adapter

Belkin USB Wireless G Network adapter (ref. F5D7050) CHIPSET: Ralink RT73

im having trouble getting this device to install on fedora core 5.

ive been following the instructions on http://www.wlanfr.net/contenus.php?id=182 but i cannot get it to work.

the installation works fine upto this point.

Personally, I would search here for ndiswrapper. I used it to get my Belkin F5D7010 card working.

Mike,

I've recently been through a similar pain on FC6(i386).

Looking at the instructions you have there, then there's a few things that jump out at me.

The most recent copies of the driver don't use a seperate .4 and .6 Makeconfig file, it's just a case of doing a "make" followed by a "make install-fedora", this takes care of almost everything, including the dependency check on the modules.

All you have to do is create the directory /etc/Wireless and put a sym link (ln -s) called RT73STA pointing to the Modules directory you've compiled from.

A reboot around now is good to settle things before booting.

If you need to manually copy the rt73.ko file, I think it was recently the /lib/modules/{kernelrev}/drivers/net/Wireless directory it was looking for.

One comment. I haven't yet been able to successfully setup to bring up the interface during the boot process.

Forgot to mention. The RT73 driver is from the rt2x00.serialmonkey site too!!
