DVD Burning: Lower case file names ?

Hi,

I have been happily backing up my DVD's for some time now. I found using good 'ol vobcopy -m and growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/hdb -V <title> <path to files> worked a treat.

but something seems to have changed as now nothing will play in my DVD player, the files all appear ok on the disk. There are no errors when reading or writing the disks, but they just wont play.

I checked with dvd+rw-mediainfo to compare one I did a while back to one I had just made, and they appear almost identical.

The only difference I can figure is the disk the works (done some time ago) shows the VIDEO_TS directory and everything in upper case, the one that doesnt work (that I just made) shows everything in lower case.

Could this be the problem ? how can I force it to make the disk with everything in upper case. They all appear in upper case from the vobcopy -m, they just didnt seem to write that way.

Yep, I had that problem too. Try this:

Code:
growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvdwriter -V <title> -rational-rock -dvd-video <path to files>
