Moving Windows to other displays

I want to know if there is way to move an already open window to another display.

For example, I login at home and open gedit and write down a grocery list but forget to save it before I leave, but I do leave it open. While I am at work I want to know what is on my grocery list but I can't just sftp it over because I forgot to save it. So I log in with free-nx (or vnc or ssh -X) but that gives me a new display. At home I'm on display 1000, but with free-nx I'm on display 1001.

Is there a way to move gedit from display 1000 to display 1001 since I am the same user?
