Comments : could not get gnome to work just get a blank screen but KDE loads fine. Wireless is not working I am trying to get the drivers from Intel to work right. Have not tried suspend but when i log off of KDE all i get is a blank screen, even if i do a reboot from terminal it does not reboot just a blank screen.

Comments: It's amazing to me that this older laptop (circa 2000) works at all, let alone with Linux, considering that it's designed specifically for Windows.
The PCTel HSP MicroModem (internal) doesn't work, even with proper drivers, but it's a WinModem, so I didn't expect it to work.
External modems have worked just fine.
I used NDISwrapper, as the Broadcom 43xx drivers didn't work, which was a surprise, as the Linksys card has the Broadcom 43xx chipset. I am now using D-Link WNA-2330, which I highly recommend.
The Trident Cyberblade driver has never worked, making this poor lappy slower than it already is. This was also a disappointment, but the Vesa driver works fine, if slow.
Needless to say that this is not a game machine.

Acer Aspire 3610
All drivers worked on FC6 EXCEPT (In order of priority for me):

Broadcom 4318 wireless...installed the fwcutter method and it works but the stability is still a bit quirky and this is acknowledged by the driver maintainers. Hopefully this changes.

Dual-Head. Even though the gui says is working and configured, a crt monitor never displays anything when plugged in.

Bluetooth...not sure how to test it...the daemons start but I can never get any detection of a device.

Comments: All I need works. Only the webcam does not work, but I have never tried to make it work, and internal 5in1 card reader does not work either. It's the one from ENE and I read somewhere that this particular one does not work in linux. Well, I forgot: the hot keys don't work also, but I have never checked why... Oh, and the wifi... I needed to load the firmware to get it work...

EDIT: checked if wifi suspend to disk works

Everything works, battery management works spot on out the box. Webcam, built in mic, mic and both headphone jacks do not work.

New tool called smolt is available on Extras repository.

yum install smolt

Comments: Wireless card doesn't reconnect to network on resume. This is a pcmcia card and all do is remove it and reinsert it to get it working again.
