MP3 Playback

Hi,

I've just installed FC6 and am at a bit of a loss as to how to get MP3 playback working under FC6. I tried following a guide on fedorafaq.org that required me to update my YUM configuration by executing the following command as root.

pm -Uvh http://www.fedorafaq.org/yum http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-5.rpm

However I think this must be specific to FC5 as I get the following error

[root@Homer etc]# rpm -Uvh http://www.fedorafaq.org/yum http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-5.rpm
Retrieving http://www.fedorafaq.org/yum
Retrieving http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-5.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
fedora-release = 5 is needed by yum-fedorafaq-5-2006.05.09.noarch

Just wondering if anyone has FC6 installed and has MP3 playback working. If so what guid did you follow to get it working?

I'm guessing if you change the 5 to 6 (in livna-release-5.rpm) it might work.

EDIT: and indeed the livna site provides:
rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-6.rpm

Tried what? Did you install the livna-release-6 package? What happens when you try to install the MP3 packages?

Don't know how to install that package.

# rpm -Uvh http://www.fedorafaq.org/yum http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-6.rpm

Alright hold up, just install the Livna repo by running this in a terminal:

rpm -ivh http://rpm.livna.org/livna-release-6.rpm

Once you've got that done head here:

Fedora FAQ is pretty outdated, some stuff still works though.
