USB Storage devices

Hello! I use a USB cable to connect my mobile to the computer (FC6 64 bit) and the SD card inside gets recognised and it's mounted, but when I do some operations like writing something to it while I am playing something from it, some software crashes and the "Kingston"(card manufacturer) icon ot the desktop dissapears. I pull the cable out of the phone and then reconnect it but this time it does't get mounted. The only way to mount it again is to reboot the PC. Also if I disconnect it mounting again insn't possible.
How to fix the problem? Or at least which process to restart so I don't have to reboot?

I don't expect to write me a guide - just tell me where to search.. (the name of the software that handles the mounting and recognition will be very usefull)

type "man mount" in a terminal

Thanks for the reply, I tried this:

# mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /media/phone
mount: special device /dev/sda1 does not exist

By the way a kernel update has arrived. Ill reboot and I'll tell you if its better.

Nothing happened.
When the device dissapears im presented with this message on my open terminal:
